Brankas is building the next generation of Open APIs and infrastructure for banks, insurance, and other financial institutions across Southeast Asia. Our API-based technology supports real-time disbursements, customer payments by bank transfer, reconciliation, and account statement retrieval for online lenders.
We provide cutting-edge consumer and enterprise focused financial management software and systems. Brankas’ enterprise-focused web apps make use of best-in-breed, modern frontend technologies such as TypeScript and Vue.js (among others), and leverage third-party systems and APIs where possible.
About the Position
Brankas is looking for a Lead Data Scientist to lead a technical team and help us gain useful insight out of raw data. Lead Data Scientist responsibilities include managing the data science team, planning projects and building data and categorisation models. You should have a strong problem-solving ability and a knack for statistical analysis. If you’re also able to align our data products with our business goals, we’d like to meet you.
Your ultimate goal will be to help improve our products and business decisions by making the most out of our data, and:
- Making long-term data science roadmap decisions.
- Utilizing millions of data points from our Open Banking rails and help build products that solve customer problems with a focus on addressing their needs
- Exploring new ways we can better equip users and clients with insights about spending, saving, and investing
- Pioneering a data-first approach toward decision-making across the entire organization
Qualifications
- Currently residing in South East Asia region
- Able to communicate fluently in English, both written and spoken. Bonus if another language is spoken.
- At least 3 years experience as a Senior Data Scientist or similar role
- Know what it takes to build a team
- Solid understanding of machine learning concepts
- Knowledge of data management and visualization techniques
- A knack for statistical analysis and predictive modeling
- Good knowledge of R, Python and MATLAB
- Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases
- Strong organizational and leadership skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Know what it takes to be customer centric
- Degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics or similar field.
